How will StartTodayFitness help me with my Body-for-LIFE challenge?

8 Tips

“Wow. That was cool!”

Sometime between weeks 5 and 8, many competitors find themselves on the verge of frustration, wondering why results are slower than they’d hoped them to be.

Then it happens.

You catch a glimpse in the mirror. You put on a pair of pants. You run in to someone you haven’t seen for a while and they don’t recognize you.

Suddenly, you notice a surprise change. In fact, it’s almost unbelievable.

I remember the day I was at my Mom’s house; I hopped on the scales and was taken back! My weight had dropped 15 pounds from the last time I had weighed. I was in utter disbelief and literally stood there, in the bathroom, for 2 minutes. (I’m surprised the weight of my jaw dropping on the scales didn’t exceed the 15 pounds I’d lost).

When I walked out to the living room, Gino said I was pale as a ghost. “What happened?” he asked.

“I just dropped to 135.”

It may have already happened, or it may be just around the corner. Don’t give up on yourself. You are building a better YOU every day.

Everyone is different. If you’re finding more questions than answers, get out your journal and write down what you’re thinking! You’ll be amazed what you find out about yourself when you force your thoughts onto paper.

This is a good time to talk again about your weight versus your other health monitors.

As I mentioned, I did drop weight in my first challenge. Ever since then, my weight has remained pretty constant. If I continue to train right and eat right, yet I don’t lose weight, am I really making a difference?

Yes. Muscle weighs more than fat. As your body transforms you lose fat and gain muscle.

You gain muscle.

Isn’t it good to lose a pound of fat?
Isn’t it good to gain a pound of lean muscle?
If you do BOTH, will you notice ANYTHING on the scales?

Of course not!

Sometimes I even gain weight! As long as I continue to train right and eat right, follow the program and stay on track, I’m remaining true to myself.

Always remain true to YOURself.

NEXT WEEK
You’re discovering the power of your mind. But what do you do when it’s playing tricks on you?
