Here’s another way I found I would fall to my own excuses.
I had all kinds of false-qualifiers to allow me to skip a cardio workout.

I didn’t do it first thing in the morning, so I might as well not do it at all.
*
I don’t have the right shoes on.
*
I already have my pajamas on.
*
I simply cannot begin my cardio after 10 pm!
*
I’m wearing jeans and my workout clothes are all the way up stairs!
*
I’m too tired to get up early.
I’ll do it later or maybe even tomorrow.
*
It’s getting dark out and I had planned to run outside.
*
It’s too cold / too hot / too rainy / too windy / too snowy.
Your mind is very powerful. At the time these excuses come to your head, they seem deceivingly logical. But don’t believe them! You must conquer your own excuses.
You must consistently and repeatedly conquer your own excuses.
You probably have started to realize that this weight-lifting stuff is NOT about your muscles. It is about your MIND. Your mind is the most powerful thing on this earth.
Blast through your old beliefs. Refuse to fail. Plan for success.
YOU are in control. You control your own destiny.
Only YOU can decide to fail.
Only YOU can decide to succeed.

We weren't always in-shape and healthy. Six years ago we realized our lives had spiraled out of control.
