After celebrating Dominic’s birthday yesterday, it was particularly more difficult to get away to get in my cardio today.
But I did it anyway. There is a lake near my house and I have a path I often run that is about 3 miles, door-to-door. About 2/3’s of the way though my run, I was feeling sluggish and tired, trying to convince myself that it would be a good idea to walk a few paces. To catch my breath, you know?! Then it came to me:
“The faster you run, the sooner you are done.”
Since I had an established route, walking a few paces meant it would take that much longer to get home to play with my baby and all of his new toys. So what did I do?
I picked up the pace!
True, the same amount of calories are burned whether you walk a mile or run a mile. However, the faster your pace, the higher your intensity, the more FAT you burn.
Next time you want to slow down, just remind yourself:
“The faster you run, the sooner you are done.”

Great idea! And it is nice to know that everyone else does those same mind tricks to themselves. Nice blog, BTW.
